Tips to get the best out of your Wedding photos.

It's often said that the day goes by in a whirlwind - a kind of dizzy blur of smiles, excitement, nerves and happiness. You want to catch the moments that matter - forever - and the camera has the ability to catch the serious, the unexpected, the setting, your loved ones, the ambiance and the significance. Rarely has so much planning gone into every small detail - the dress to wear, the sash colors, the rings, the flowers ...

  1. Enjoy the day and relax - your happiness will shine through into the photos. 

 2. Photos at sunset can be stunning, but remember that you may want other shots in daylight first so time the service for about 30-45 minutes before the sun is due to set - then you get the best of both worlds - daylight shots and those fantastic sunset showstoppers. 

3. Rely on one professional photographer to get the shots. Snapshots are fine from 'phones and relatives, but make sure everyone is facing the designated photographer or else the pictures will appear disjointed. Our photographers cleverly use effects and techniques to change the depth of field, the focus and the framing. Sometimes, the most orignial angles and not the most obvious shots are not the ones you will cherish most 

4. There is a time for formal shots ... and there is certainly also a place for wearing your heart on your sleeve and letting your hair down. 

5. The more pictures, the merrier - have you ever noticed how two pictures taken only a second apart can be totally different?  We will capture as many images as we can - and then we'll apply effects like changing some images to black & white, then you choose the ones you want. Our packages usually come with a standard number of images included but remember that you can upgrade after the ceremony to buy all of the pictures - you don't have to lose any of those precious snapshots.

 6. Choosing an image as the feature of your announcement or thankyou card is a great way to share your happiness with others, especially if they were not at the service. 

7. If you have photos on your 'must have' wishlist, email the requirements to us beforehand and we'll make sure you don't have to be concerned on the day.

 8. Catch the beauty of the settings and the archway.

 9. You've spent so long getting every detail perfect, make sure they are recorded - let your own style shine through. 

10. If you choose a theme then the pictures will look after themselves - no need to worry about arranging setups or setting the 'stage' - every angle will be picture-perfect and you'll be amazed how the details tie together to make a composed shot - a sash, a ribbon, decoration on the arch, a starfish ... we'll make it happen and it will be uniquely yours. 

 11. If you want to remember the whole day, then you can hire the photographer to visit as you prepare and mingle as you party at your reception. 

 12. Don't forget the boys! There is so much focus on the bride (understandably!), but make sure the groom and groomsmen are prominent too.
