Important Information...Your LICENSE!
When preparing for a wedding in the STATE OF FLORIDA, each couple must obtain a marriage license from a clerk of court office in any Florida County. It doesn't matter which county, the license is valid anywhere in the state. All County Clerk of Court offices are open Monday thru Friday and you shuld arrive no later than 3pm. Licenses are not available Saturday or Sunday. To get your license you must visit the clerks office in person and produce a current photo ID such as a drivers license or passport. You will need to know that date of a divorce or death of a former spouse. the fee for the license is $93.50. If either of you are a resident of the STATE OF FLORIDA you must purchase the license 3 DAYS before the wedding or you can also attend a class on marriage and with the certificate from the class there is no waiting period. If you are NOT a resident of FLORIDA there is no waiting period. The license is good for 60 days from the date of purchase and will be required at or before the time of the wedding. Our minister will complete the information on the license and after signing it we will mail it to the clerks office where it was purchased. After the license is properly recorded by the clerk. a validated copy will be mailed to you at the address you furnished to the clerks office. Usually the license is received no later than 10 days from the wedding date. If you have not received your license by then you should call the clerks office where it was purshased. Should the license be lost, a duplicate may be aquired for $20. It is a very rare occurence, however, if the license should be lost in the mail after the ceremony and before it arrives at the clerks office, we will pay the $20 and complete the new license and forward it to the clerks office at no charge. The license is very important part of thw edding. Don't forget to purchase it on time and DON'T FORGET TO BRING THE LICENSE to the wedding or better before.
If you have any questions, please call our office or the clerks office where you plan to purchase the license.
